Birds have somehow always been an important part of my life. I have been fascinated by them for as long as I can remember and in my first childhood paintings I drew birds flying across the skies. Birds still catch my attention today, so it is only natural that they appear as a motif in my contemporary works as well.
I dedicate this series of art prints to the Central European birds I grew up with. Birds that I watched in the garden in winter, birds that were always present when I played in the meadows and woods and many of which are increasingly rare to see nowadays.
The works are executed like I would have done it to make screen prints, with a reduced color palette and dot grid to show gradients. Each image shows, besides of the bird, a section realized in dot grid shows a typical habitat of the bird. And of course the geometric element may not be missing, as a reminder to let the beauty into one’s own life and to integrate it into your life planning.
