Sometimes you just have to drop everything and escape the daily grind. I did that to myself twice this week.
Everyday life in Basel caught up with me this week. Thanks to the mostly sunny weather, however, it was blessed with some colorful highlights.
A fairly quick flight catapulted me from New York to Basel and from the warm and sunny to the gray and dingy side of fall.
Autumn is definitely my favorite time to be in New York. This week, which was actually a rather normal one, has reminded me of that once again.

After all the summer months in Basel, the time finally came again this week for relaxing days at the beach. Despite a cold, I enjoyed every single one of them.
A week in Basel between the time spent in the Swiss mountains and the big city, characterized by lots of tasks, preparations and very hot summer days.
I spent a wonderful week hiking in Müstair and enjoyed immersing myself in a completely different world where I would have liked to stay even longer.
It’s nice when everyday life gives you a change. A short break from the hustle and bustle of the usual days. This week brought several changes, each of which I really enjoyed.
The weeks in which I complained about too much rain and cool temperatures are long forgotten. At the moment, I wouldn’t mind a cool rainy day in between.
The swifts have returned to Africa, but August has arrived. And with it, another week of summer.
Some weeks, a single day stands out and outshines all the others. While the rest of the rather monotonous days this week didn’t inspire me to take any new photos, lots of pictures were taken on a hike in the mountains.
Summer mood set in this week. The days got hot and my apartment and I switched into summer mode.

The new week marks the beginning of a new month and the start of the second half of the year. Sunny summer hasn’t really arrived yet, but the alternatives also give reason to be happy.
For a few days, it suddenly became warm and summery and everything took on that touch of light-heartedness that always accompanies this weather.
