The small pleasures of everyday life add up like flowers on a bush to form an exuberant, blossoming whole.
My days are still mainly made up of unspectacular work and commitments that I can’t say much interesting about. And yet I wouldn’t want to miss any of these days. Life is also great without having to be spectacular. Finding contentment in the simple things is a beautiful thing and, as has often been emphasized here, it doesn’t take much to be happy. Living conditions alone that allow us to live in peace and without fear and hunger are reason enough to rejoice. A daily glance at the world news reminds us that this is not a matter of course.

Human encounters
The week was also filled with encounters with people. With old friends who have been with me since childhood and with completely new people who brought new insights. Talking together, eating together, laughing, loving, being human.
I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.

Spring turning into summer
In this way, the various little things add up to something big. Like the individual flowers that make up a flowering bush or plant. I noticed them all the time this week. While jogging as well as on walks through the city and especially on my balcony, where I spend my lunch break and most evenings. Spring has definitely made way for summer. The fine weather is getting coarser, the green is turning yellow. The temperatures are rising and the first tropical nights are accompanied by the hum of the fan next to the bed.

A new King
I also found time this week to finish painting my king number 8 in a large and a small version. With lots of green and purple tones for which I found inspiration in the very flowers that surround me at the moment. So my life flows into each of my paintings, the stories of my everyday life interweave with the works of my art. That definitely makes me happy.
