The first few days back in Switzerland have been a potpourri of sleepless nights, busy days and a hint of spring in the air.
From monotonous gray back to a colorful and varied week, thanks to some activities I tackled.
It’s just another winter week here in New York and yet everything is somehow different and I’m wondering how I can best distance myself from the negativity that suddenly resonates everywhere.
An update to my website didn’t go as expected and I was busy fixing the errors for days.
This week was again dominated by everyday life, with only a change in the weather providing some variety.

The Christmas week was dominated by snow and freezing cold weather. But even cold days can warm up the heart.
It’s fascinating how many different impressions and emotions can be packed into one week. This one was a wonderful example of that.
The colourful past week was followed by days that were gray and marked by everyday life and unforeseen events. At least I was able to finish the preparations for the exhibition.
December began with a potpourri of colors and impressions, as if to compensate for the beginning of the darkest weeks of the year.
Even ordinary days have little surprises waiting to be discovered and a reminder, that life is what you make it.
A song of praise for November, which can be anything but the dark and gray month we generally think it is.
Many things that look the same at first glance are not. Individualism and diversity are a basic principle of our world order. Anyone who goes through life with open eyes can recognize this everywhere.
There are weeks when the days flow slowly and sluggishly, like the November fog in the valleys of Switzerland. Knowing that there is sunshine above makes the gray moments easier.
Sometimes you just have to drop everything and escape the daily grind. I did that to myself twice this week.
Everyday life in Basel caught up with me this week. Thanks to the mostly sunny weather, however, it was blessed with some colorful highlights.
A fairly quick flight catapulted me from New York to Basel and from the warm and sunny to the gray and dingy side of fall.
Autumn is definitely my favorite time to be in New York. This week, which was actually a rather normal one, has reminded me of that once again.
